Meet Amanda Brown, the owner of Pink Glow Wax Co. (@pinkglowwaxco) in Lakeland, Florida. A dedicated esthetician, mother, and business owner, Amanda has been in the beauty industry since 2016 and has specialized in waxing over the past several years.

What inspired you to become an esthetician?
I’ve always loved helping people feel good about themselves. Becoming an esthetician gave me the opportunity to combine my passion for beauty, skincare, and client care into a career where I get to make a difference every day. There’s nothing better than seeing a client leave feeling more confident than when they walked in.
Why did you decide to start your own business? What's the biggest challenge you've encountered so far?
The biggest challenge has been wearing all the hats that come with being a business owner. From marketing and social media to bookkeeping and client care, there’s always something to learn. But honestly, that’s also been one of the most rewarding parts. Every challenge has helped me grow both personally and professionally, and I’m incredibly proud of how far Pink Glow Wax Co. has come.
What business goals have you set for yourself this year, and how do you plan to achieve them?
This year, my biggest goal is to continue growing Pink Glow Wax Co. while creating the best possible experience for my clients. I want to increase client retention, grow my retail sales, and continue educating my clients on proper skin and waxing care.
I plan to get there by staying consistent, building genuine relationships, showing up on social media, and always focusing on education and results. My clients are the heart of my business, and I never stop looking for ways to serve them better and have an amazing experience!
What is your favorite service to perform and why?
Brazilian waxes, hands down! I know that answer surprises a lot of people, but I love helping clients feel comfortable during a service that can feel intimidating at first. Seeing someone go from nervous at their first appointment to confident and at ease is the most rewarding part. I also love the genuine relationships that develop and watching my clients leave feeling more confident than when they walked in.
What do you wish every client knew before their first appointment?
That there’s absolutely nothing to be nervous about! We’ve truly seen it all, and there is zero judgment here. My goal is always to make clients feel comfortable, educated, and cared for from the moment they walk in. Also, consistency and proper aftercare make a huge difference in getting the best results possible!
