How long have you been in the beauty industry?
Almost 2 years!
What made you want to become an esthetician?
I worked in the banking industry for over 5 years. It wasn’t something that was fulfilling my dreams so I finally decided to take the risk and pursue my career once I had my baby girl. On July 2021 I decided to enroll in beauty school to be an Esthetician. I felt more motivated than ever to do something for myself and the future of my family. The beauty industry always surrounded me & I knew I had the potential to help boost someone’s confidence and help them learn how to love their own skin!
Why did you decide to start your own business?
I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own business right after I got licensed. I wanted to escape working a 9-5 & decided to work 24/7 for MY BUSINESS. I knew I would value my career more and pursue all my dreams & passion for my business. I also wanted to be part of the entrepreneur life and grow something made from the bottom of my heart.
What is your favorite service to perform and why?
My favorite service to provide and most popular is BRAZILIANS. They are so satisfying, quick, and easy to do. I love boosting my clients' self-esteem right after a fresh wax. Hearing them compliment their own skin/body is like a reward to me!
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced while running your own business?
The biggest challenge I have faced so far while running my own business is not being taken seriously. What I mean is some people don’t understand this is my full-time job & career. People think I do this “just for fun” but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I set a policy in place to protect my time & business.
What is one business tool that you can't live without?
My booking site is my #1 business tool that helps me stay connected with my clients, keeps me & my clients organized, plus saves me so much time.
How and when did you discover Bushbalm Skincare?
For a little more than a year, I was on the search for natural products safe to use on intimate areas on Instagram & luckily Bushbalm was one of the very first ones to pop up. Shortly someone from the team reached out to me & sent over free goodies. I tried out Bushbalm products for 2 weeks & saw so much improvement on my skin. I knew my clients would love them as much as I did so I decided to retail Bush Balm.
What is the most popular Bushbalm product at your location?
Everyone loves the Bermuda Dark Spot scrub & oil. All my client have achieved amazing results & has actually helped with their hyperpigmentation concerns.
What do you enjoy most about the Bushbalm Wholesale community?
I really love the knowledge that is given to professionals regarding aftercare, skin, business tips & etc. I’m super grateful that the Bushbalm team has & is always available to us at all times regarding any questions or concerns we might have.
What is one word of advice you would give to new estheticians entering the field right now?
Pursue your dreams, you never know how many things you are capable of doing & many goals you are able to achieve. I have lived by this and have discovered so much potential in me that I never knew was there.
