How long have you been in the beauty industry?

12 years!

What made you want to become an esthetician?

I took the Esthetician program at Algonquin College because I used to be very self conscious about my skin, which at the time was full of acne, and I wanted to encourage women to be comfortable in their own skin.

Why did you decide to start your own business?

I love the freedom of having my own hours, clients, and services that I provide. I worked in the industry for about 6 years under other spas and onboard a cruise ship, before I decided to take Business and learn how to apply my industry skills to business.

What is your favorite service to perform and why?

Brazilian Waxing! For me, the instant gratification and seeing how confident and comfortable clients are in their own skin afterwards is very rewarding.

What is one business tool that you can't live without?

There's SO many! To be honest, I’d have to say Tik Tok. Without Social Media, I would not be where I am today. It’s essentially a free marketing platform to get your business out there. It was especially useful after the pandemic hit when many estheticians shut down their businesses and clients were looking for new ones.

How and when did you discover Bushbalm Skincare?

I discovered Bushbalm on Instagram when I was looking for an appropriate product to eradicate ingrown hairs.

What is the most popular Bushbalm product at your location?

I sell the Nude Oil like chocolate! My clients are in love with the results and the scent. It’s easy to use, with simple ingredients.

What do you enjoy most about the Bushbalm Wholesale community?

I appreciate their quick responses and marketing! They will share, tag, and repost other estheticians' work on their social media. It’s very important to get feedback from customers, especially those who specialize in skincare.

What is one word of advice you would give to new estheticians entering the field right now?

The advice I would give to new estheticians is that this industry is forever evolving, so I would make sure to continually educate yourself and don't be afraid to ask for help or mentorship!
