What inspired you to become an esthetician?

I’ve always had a passion for skincare and loved making DIY skincare products at home when I was younger. That passion inspired me to become an esthetician, and I’m so happy to work in a field that aligns with my interests while helping people feel confident in their skin.

Why did you decide to start your own business? What's the biggest challenge you've encountered so far?

I decided to start my own business because I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset and knew I wanted to be my own boss. Creating Smoove Skin Studio has allowed me the flexibility to create my own schedule and turn my passion into a career.

The biggest challenge has been balancing multiple roles, being an esthetician, content creator, educator, and making time for myself and my family. I’ve learned the importance of creating balance, to give myself grace, and focus on consistency over perfection.

What business goals have you set for yourself this year, and how do you plan to achieve them?

This year, my goals are to continue to grow my studio, expand my waxing education offerings, and further build my platform as both an esthetician and educator. I plan to achieve this by providing an exceptional client experience, creating valuable educational content, staying consistent with my marketing, and continuously investing in my professional growth.

What is your favorite service to perform and why?

Brazilian wax! It’s such a personal and vulnerable service, so being able to build trust and make my clients feel comfortable is really rewarding. I love creating a fun, judgment-free experience and seeing how confident they feel after their service is truly priceless.

What do you wish every client knew before their first appointment?

I wish clients knew that a Brazilian wax is not nearly as scary or painful as it may seem. My goal is always to create a comfortable, welcoming experience where clients feel relaxed, confident, and cared for throughout the entire appointment.

How and when did you discover Bushbalm? Why did you choose to carry us?

I discovered Bushbalm PRO through social media back in 2023, and honestly, it was love at first wax! I had tried other brands before, but nothing really gave me or my clients the results I was looking for. Once I received a Bushbalm wax sample and tested it out, I instantly fell in love. I haven’t looked back since!

Which Bushbalm product is most popular at your salon? Why do you think that is?

The Bermuda Dark Spot Oil is definitely the most popular product at my salon. Many of my clients struggle with dark spots and hyperpigmentation, so it’s a product I confidently recommend. Clients love that it delivers visible results while helping them feel more confident in their skin.

My personal favourite is Bushbeads. I honestly haven’t used another wax with the same quality and consistency, it’s different in the best way. Me and Bushbeads go together real bad!

What do you enjoy most about the Bushbalm PRO community?

What I love most about the Bushbalm PRO community is the support and connection between everyone. We're always sharing knowledge, and tips with one another, and that's something I really value. It feels like a genuine community where everyone wants to see each other grow and succeed!

What advice would you give to new estheticians entering the field?

My advice to new estheticians would be to stay consistent and keep showing up, even when it feels like no one is watching. Growth takes time, but if you stay dedicated to your craft and continue putting in the work, the results will come.
