Meet Leticia Rodriguez (@silkysmoothbodywaxing), a skilled esthetician based in Fort Worth, Texas, with 8 years in the beauty industry and a passion for helping clients feel confident in their skin.

Leticia’s journey began with a love for makeup and quickly evolved into a deeper connection with skincare and waxing. That passion led her to open her own studio, Silky Smooth LLC, where comfort, care, and confidence take center stage.

Her specialty? Brazilian waxing—known not just for its transformative results, but for the trust and connection it fosters between esthetician and client. Leticia’s advice to new estheticians is to be patient, stay consistent, and lead with passion. Growth takes time—but when you truly love what you do, the results are always worth it.


What inspired you to become an esthetician?

My love for beauty started with makeup—I enjoyed how it could boost someone’s confidence. That interest led me to skincare and eventually to esthetics. When I discovered waxing, I loved how it helped people feel clean, confident, and comfortable in their own skin. It’s incredibly rewarding to help others feel good about themselves.

Why did you decide to start your own business?

I started my own business because I didn’t feel I could fully express my talent or connect with clients the way I wanted to. Waxing is personal, and smooth skin can really boost someone’s confidence. I wanted to create a space where people feel comfortable, cared for, and truly seen. Every client has a different story, and over time, that relationship grows—they let you into their world, and that connection means everything to me. Ultimately, I wanted to build deeper relationships with my clients and help them experience the full benefits of the services we offer.

What is your favorite service to perform and why?

My favorite service to perform is Brazilian waxing. It’s incredibly transformative—it leaves clients feeling clean, confident, and refreshed. It’s also a service that builds a lot of trust and connection, which makes it so rewarding!

Tell us about the biggest challenge you've faced while running your own business. How do you cope?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is managing the unpredictability of client flow—some weeks are fully booked, while others are unexpectedly slow. It can be stressful trying to maintain consistent income and manage staffing. I cope by staying proactive: promoting services, running targeted specials, and building strong relationships to encourage client loyalty. I’ve learned to adapt quickly and stay focused on the bigger picture.

What business goals have you set for yourself this year, and how do you plan to achieve them?

This year, my goals are to build a strong team and continue refining our waxing techniques. Since moving into our storefront almost a year ago, I’ve been focused on perfecting the studio and delivering the best possible experience. To reach these goals, I’m investing in team training, cultivating a positive work environment, and setting clear standards that support growth, strong communication, and long-term client retention.

What is one business tool you can't live without?

One business tool I can’t live without is Vagaro. It streamlines everything—scheduling, client management, payments, and marketing—all in one place. It keeps my waxing business organized and running smoothly every day.

How and when did you discover Bushbalm? Why did you choose to carry us?

I discovered Bushbalm in 2021 through my friend Ashley at Melted Wax Studio. She had amazing things to say about it, so I decided to give it a try—especially since the brand I was using wasn’t delivering the results I wanted and felt overpriced for the quality. I started with the signature oils, and my clients and I immediately noticed a difference. The results were instant, the ingredients were clean and simple, and the price point was perfect. From there, I got excited about every new launch, and over time, my entire shelf transitioned to Bushbalm. It’s a favorite among my clients, my team, and myself!

The most popular Bushbalm product at our salon is the Nude Scrub. Clients love that it’s gentle enough for sensitive skin and doesn’t have a strong scent, making it feel clean and simple. It’s also great for preventing ingrowns and keeping the skin soft between waxes, so it’s become a go-to for many of our regulars.

What I enjoy most about the Bushbalm Pro community is how genuinely connected and supportive they are. From the beginning, it’s felt like more than just a brand—they make you feel like part of a team. What advice would you give to new estheticians entering the field?

My biggest advice to new estheticians is to be patient and stay consistent—growth takes time, but it’s so worth it! Focus on perfecting your craft and genuinely love what you do. When you show up with passion and prioritize your clients, it shines through in your work. Stay dedicated, keep learning, and trust that your hard work will pay off!
