How long have you been in the beauty industry?

10 years!

What made you want to become an esthetician?

I always wanted to work in the cosmetic chemistry field but after I learned you were required to have a college degree with a major in that specific field I shifted my plans.

Why did you decide to start your own business?

Covid was the reason why I wanted to start my own business. I also wanted to start my own business because I noticed that there weren’t many Korean waxers in my area. I wanted to ensure waxing services could be accessible for the non-English speaking Korean community as well.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced while running your own business?

Managing the cost of expanding and having employees. Expanding is such an exciting thing but it always ends up costing more than I expect.

What is your favorite service to perform and why?

Our Coochies ‘N Clean Brazilian. It’s a Brazilian wax with a vajacial afterward. It’s more fun to do than the basic Brazilian wax.

What is one business tool that you can't live without?

My booking system.

How and when did you discover Bushbalm Skincare?

I discovered Bushbalm back in 2020 when I was opening up my business. I was searching for aftercare products that I personally liked for retail and ran across Bushbalm. I think that was Bushbalm’s earlier days too.

What is the most popular Bushbalm product at your location?

Bermuda and Nude Oil.

What do you enjoy most about the Bushbalm Wholesale community?

I love seeing the brand I’ve used since I established my business grow. When I see how many other estheticians also like Bushbalm it gives me a sense of pride for retailing and sticking with the brand.

What is one word of advice you would give to new estheticians entering the field right now?

Always be willing to learn, grow and adapt.
